    Derogatory notes

    Hi, can anyone advise on a template letter for a CC provider requesting that they remove derogatory notes registered with credit referencing agency while an account is in dispute.

    What do you mean by derogatory?
    Are they factually incorrect and not truly reflective of the way the account has progressed?

      Hi Kafka

      They have recorded a late payment / account in arrears despite account being placed in dispute on 5/12/09.

        Then the issue will probably hinge on the concept of dispute, because banks rarely accept that an account is in dispute even when they have failed to comply with requirements.

        Write to them and explain the reasons and what you want them to do. See what they say first to defend their actions.
