  • Bank Claims I Owe Money - But Can't Find My Account

More than one year ago I opted in for a BJ's credit card issued by Cemenity Bank. After several problems receiving the card I opted out. One year later I received a letter in the mai from Comenity Bank in an attempt to collect a debt. The letter had my name and address but no account number nor amount owed. I called Comenity Bank and was told that I did not exist in their database under the name and address on the letter. They also used my phone number bad SS number. Nothing found I called several times and received the same answer....you do not exist in our data....I asked if they can send me a letter saying that I do not exist,,,,they refused. I checked my credit reports and found they had me owing $205.00. I do not know what I can do to resolve this problem. Any suggestions would be welcomed. TY

    Hi Solo

This is a UK site, try a US site for help. Banks in the US will be regulated, that's good starting point.
