  • Credit Card debt partially settled - not by me.

    Hello,

I had a credit card debt which was passed to Lowells some time ago and which defaulted in January 2014.

Some time ago it seemed to disappear from my credit report with CreditKarma/Noodle and Clearscore however I found it on Clearscore under closed accounts and showing a balance of £0, checking the payment history showed a payment was made in December 2018 however that payment wasn't made by me or anyone connected to me.

The account is still showing on Clearscore and on Equifax as 'partially settled' when I believe it should have been removed this month (6 years from Jan 2014) however it looks like the 'payment' in 2018 is keeping it on my report.

Can anyone please advise me on what steps I need to take to have this removed from my account, do I contact Lowells, Equifax or is there some other route to take.

    Thank you for reading.
