  • Credit files for different addresses?

Is it possible (I suspect 'yes') for a person to have credit files for different addresses and which aren't linked?

Hypothetical situation is of someone permanently resident at one address but who then has supply of electricity at another (under a new account) - perhaps a business - address... or, alternately, the home of a close personal friend whom they regularly visit, and during one such instance a doorstep canvas from a sales agent resulted in a switch of supplier to a new joint account (the existing resident and the visitor)?

I am not sure how this would work as I believe the electoral roll plays a part in confirming where one lives on your credit reference file.:confused2:I expect someone will be along soon with a more informed view.

An optimist is someone who falls off the Empire State Building, and after 50 floors says, 'So far so good'!

I hope so - the second example is real... I inadvertently found myself as the account holder for electricity supplied at a friend's house... there was no form-filling questions about me and it was simply assumed I lived there (and I don't mind, and aren't about to dig into credit files to see what's where).
