  • Advice on CRA entry

Just checked my credit file and I noticed that Virgin media are reporting on an account I had back in 2003. They last updated it 29/dec/2010.

How can they possibly be reporting on an account that has been closed for over 6 years?

If it's positive I wouldn't worry. Yes, it is strange, but I've read recently (can't remember where) that positive information can stay on your credit report as long as you want it to or until the creditor removes it.

If it's positive it is only going to work in your favour, though why they put it there after all this time baffles me.

I was surprised when I got my credit report that there was information on there from 1990. Fortunately it was positive information from a house I then rented.

I'm not going to ask for it to be removed lol

Just wondered if anyone knew why they would be reporting in Dec 2010 for an account that closed back in 03.

One more thing.... The actual account was NTL NOT Virgin so why are virgin reporting to CRA's?
