  • Debts included in bankruptcy still defaulting and can’t get mortgage

Hi I hope this is the right place to post and apologies if not. Feel free to move if needed.

my wife and I made ourselves bankrupt in June 201:.
All our debts were included in the bankruptcy but barclaycard sold two debts to PCO Holdco when they found out we went bankrupt.

Pco now have us defaulting which is causing us a problem.

we want to buy a home and the mortgage advisor linked to Anwyl told us we could get a mortgage with Nationwide with the bankruptcy on our file after 3 years.

the stumbling block is the defaults from PCO for each of myself and wife and also a defaulting Halifax account.

even though they were included in bankruptcy they are still defaulting and now we have to keep renting because of it.

i really don’t think it’s fair I should continue to rent when without those defaults we could buy a home.

our notice is due in February and we want to move out in the May of this year when our tenancy ends.

is it possible to claim compensation for having to continue renting if the information on my file is wrong?

    Thanks, Wharty.

      When did you go bankrupt?

These PCO debts, what is the default date on them?

All unsecured debts in your bankruptcy should have been marked as defaulted at the date of bankruptcy (or before) and now have a zero balance. See https://debtcamel.co.uk/credit-file-after-bankruptcy/ for how to do this.

the mortgage advisor linked to Anwyl told us we could get a mortgage with Nationwide with the bankruptcy on our file after 3 years.
Three years after you went bankrupt? That sounds highly unlikely to me.
