  • Voluntary Termination HELP

Hi everyone! I was wondering if you could kindly help me, I am in a position to VT MY car, I have paid just over the 50% of total repayable! However, I have heard some bad experiences about VT so I was hoping if anyone could help me through this journey, firstly, do I phone up the finance company to collect my car or should I use one of the templates on this thread to request for a VT?

    Re: Voluntary Termination HELP

    Hello Zal,

To VT the agreement you jus T follow what it says in your terms and conditions. Sometimes it will just say "put in writing" others will say "in writing by post to the address ...." If you fail to follow the correct procedure then you will not have VTd the agreement.

As for the letter you could use the template, or any letter will do as long as you refer to the fact that you are terminating pursuant to section 99 of the CCA 1974

        Re: Voluntary Termination HELP

Hi rob? Iv had a look at my contract it's an agreement for hire purchase under customer consumer act 1974? Can I still VT my contract though it does not mention VT specifically anywhere? It does however state that in order to terminate agreement I should write to my finance company? If so have you got a letter head template I could use to send and get the ball rolling for my VT? Thanks
