    Re: lease purchase agreements?

Lease purchase is generally the name given to hire purchase in the application of business purposes. Is that the case here ?

it was for a car but the top of the paperwork say lease hire agreement, the problem is the car has been of the road now since christmas and we had done what we thought the problem was but not through the dealer we had it from, in april the car went to the dealer as what we had done had not solved it, they want nearly 400 pound now and can still not tell us what is wrong with the car, just not sure where i stand? can i cancel the agreement by letter and tell them to keep the car or do i carry tell them to carry on looking for the problem and end up paying more than the car is worth now?

A lease hire is a different thing entirely, in this you do not have the option to buy it is the lessor's property.
Did you have permission to take he car to another dealer to have repairs made , is this the issue ?

i didn't know you had to have permission to take it elsewhere for repairs, and it hasn't been mentioned by the dealer as a problem as yet, infact we have been to the dealer a couple of times to ask how we can resolve this and they keep saying they will speak to the managing director and we still have not heard anything back after 5 weeks, just don't know where i stand as i have no car and am still paying the finance on it.
