  • Court bailiff that never arrived

About two years ago I received a letter from Pre Legal Recoveries (M&S Money in-house debt collectors), saying that my case could be referred to a solicitor at M&S Bank and subsequently a court bailiff could be given authority to remove goods.

Somehow no court bailiff has been anywhere near my home. The Pre Legal Recoveries letter conveniently failed to mention that, in order to be able to instruct court bailiffs, a court order would be required. Our Paul kindly wrote an excellent reply which pissed M&S Bank off even further; their response was a pathetic template letter referring to OFT.

My M&S Bank story so far is that the alleged debt has been through two debt collectors (Rockwell and Credit Security Limited) but both have given up. Credit Security, being the latter, gave up after three Mayhew referenced template letters. My Mayhew template letters have a 'My reference: Mayhew #'. This is to direct DCA's attention to the Santander vs Mayhew case often discussed on LB.

My Mayhew template letter work and now - touch wood - I rarely hear from M&S Bank nowadays.

Paul was recently dealing with a case involving M&S store to credit card. Any news?
