  • Barclaycard CCA request - need advice

I defaulted on my Barclaycard in 2007 but it still remains with Barclaycard they havent forwarded the account onto a DCA so this is my worry, i bank with them have a overdraft my salary goes in to cover the overdraft and they are in default of my CCA request. So i wanted to know can i stop making payment to them until they provide me with the information i need? Or will they take my salary before it hits my account to cover my overdraft?

If you intend stopping paying them, you'd be safer having your salary paid into another bank account totally unrelated to Barclays.

The risk is there regardless of the outcome of the CCA request, even if they don't comply with it at all, or can't supply one, they can still exercise their right to offset.

Barcraps are notoriously bad at retrieving agreements, their success rate is very low, so get yourself another bank account where you can have your salary paid in. You're not bankrupt, so you should be able to find a basic account without an O/D facility even with bad credit, and some banks only search the last 3 years rather than the full 6, unless you're applying for a mortgage. ray2:

My apologies, I was getting this account mixed up with one that's with Connaught.
