Hard to tell without details, HSBC have bought accounts from other sources, for example a friend of mine has an M&S storecard turned credit card run by HSBC, this is very different from, say, an HSBC loan. It also depends on the date it was taken out. Would you care to give us more details? :typing:
It is a hsbc unsecured loan taken out back in2002 and defaulted 2006 now either assigned to Howard Cohen or bought by them I have sent cca last week.

I had a hsbc unsecured loan which I defaulted on in 2006 and ever since howard cohen have been collecting the payments I have sent a cca request last week. I just wanted to know how good hsbc are in providing cca information?

That's good news! They may not be able to find something that old. :thumb:

If it was defaulted that long ago, chances of them not being able to produce any sort of agreement are very good! :thumb: When you send a SAR, many banks will argue they only hold data for the past 6 years, if this debt was defaulted and sold on years ago, the agreement was probably destroyed or filed in Outer Mongolia.
Funny this got a letter from Moorcroft saying they have requested the info from Britannica-Arrow and the account is on hold and now I have received a letter from Arrow Global saying they purchased the debt on 28th Feb 2013 and Wescot will be collecting the payment.

Do I tell them when they demand payment non compliance of CCA request or do I not reply as they must be fully aware?

Sounds like a notice of assignment, file it and wait for Arrow or their puppets Wetclothes to make contact.

They won't be aware of anything, debts are sold in bulk without any background information. When you hear from them you will have to tell them the account is in dispute as you had not received a response to your CCA request. Do post up when you hear from them, Arrow are trigger happy and you need to respond to their letters or they may be tempted to go to court.

Well they seemed to own the debt before from Egg and had Moorcroft collecting now they are telling me they only purchased in Feb and Wescot will be collecting. Moorcroft wrote to me they have requested info from Britannica Arrow. So Britannica different from Arrow Global?

Sorry, it can get a bit confusing with so many DCAs involved, and them using various names (Arrow use a few). So this was sold to Arrow in February, who were using Moorcroft and will now be using Wescot to pester you.

If you hear from them before you get a reply to your CCA request, you can refer them to the letter from Moorcroft saying they were requesting the documents. Arrow, Britannica or whatever they like to call themselves will have to go back to the original lender to obtain them, and this was from 2002 if I remember correctly so they may not find anything. Wetclothes are not the sharpest tools in the box and you have to spell it out for them. Expect a few bright red letters, I've got quite a few myself!

God not looking forward to it but they deserve it.

Well I've just looked over the letters, ok Britannica Arrow bought the debt from Egg (some years ago) they were using Moorcroft to collect who I was paying so I sent a CCA to them they put account on hold and said they have requested documents from Britannica Arrow. Now I get a letter saying Arrow Global has purchased from Britannica Arrow and acting on for their counterpart with Wescot as appointed collectors. To me that seems the same company trying their luck on me knowing I have sent a CCA.

Also if the loan was originally applied for over the telephone how will the CCA request work?

Britannica Recoveries are registered in Luxembourg: https://www.avoxdata.com/portal/enti...797B6/26007094

THey trade as Arrow Global in the UK: http://www.arrowglobal.net/services/default.aspx

Applying over the phone was commonplace before online applications. They would take your details over the phone, fill them in and send you the documents to sign and return to them.
