Re: Hello all, I have issues with Welcome Financial Services Ltd!

Daronb, I don't think I can give you much helpful advice but I really feel for you. I have a loan with Welcome too and also a son with AS, so I know what you are going through. If I can give you moral support, you have it in bucket loads!!!!! Welcome, if you have been reading all the threads are a complete piece of art. They seem to make up the rules as they go along.

The only piece of real advice I can give you is don't speak to them over the phone - they will try and convince you that pigs fly! Keep it in writing - all the way.

Hi Ruby, thanks for your words of comfort.

Welcome are an extremely devious money gabbing machine that seems to have no morals, it makes me laugh they can get away with this behaviour? Why doesn't the OFT or FOS shut them down? From what I have read about them they are in deep do do themselves, and cannot pay their creditors etc. pot calling the kettle black me thinks lol.

Any way I am sure some one in this forum will eventually respond? Or maybe not, at least I have tried, maybe I should go it alone :deadhorse:

It would be helpful if you posted details - time lines etc - and what you specifically need help with (would save time)

Daronb, Welcome are well known sharks and there are lots of people in the same situation and they are also in financial difficulties themselves.

It would be helpful if you posted more details about the loan you had from them, as there are both secures and unsecured loans, etc. as well as the history of this debt, the sums involved, timescales, any correspondence you have received, etc. Without further details its not possible to say very much, I'm afraid.

Re: Hello all, I have issues with Welcome Financial Services Ltd!

I had a car through Welcome Car Finance in 2008, unfortunately I was unable to keep my agreed repayments and a reduce payment was accepted in 2010, unfortunately my circumstances change once again in 2012.
I wrote to Welcome requesting a reduced payment of £64 pounds a month in August 2012, this was sent registered post to Ruddington, unfortunately Welcome completely ignored this request and continued to take 200 pounds a month out of my account, this left me unable to pay my rent for 2 months, when I realised what had occurred I cancelled the direct debit, within the next day Welcome were on the phone asking why I had cancelled my direct debit, I explained that I had requested a reduced payment and that they had ignored the request, the guy on the other end of the phone said "yes we ignored because it is not acceptable", I said to him that I have no other option but reduce the payment,
this guy then said " it looks like you have no option but to give us the car back!!!!! All this after I had paid over 10 thousand pounds toward the car!!! The guy was not interested, he said I needed to hand the car back or they would take me to court and I would lose and have to pay more money so it was in my interests to hand the car back, he said that if I give the car up it will cover the debt, no other option was offered to me so I agreed (I wouldn't have done if I knew what other options I had), the guy then said that I had voluntarily agreed to give the car up before putting the phone down on me. He gave me no option!
The car was taken 14 days later, by Country Wide, these people never even bothered to fill in their paperwork out correctly, as they had failed to carry out a check for defects on the car.
After the car was taken Welcome sent me a letter stating that I still owed the same amount and that due to a recent default notice issued they were entitled to get the goods back and any more money owed in full, I never received a default notice and my experian report mentions no default???
I rang them up for an explanation to which they would not give me one?
I asked the guy to send me some details as to how much the car was sold for, he did not oblige, apparently I owed 4510 on the original agreement and I also owe 4510 in charges (coincidental) apparently when the car was sold it paid off the account debt but I still owed the charges of £4510, really, the car sold for £1500, Welcome knocked £239 of my account?
Since this call I have requested that all communication be via writing, they still ringing to which I ignore them.

I then requested a SAR, welcome sent me the following information back:
They have sent me settlement letters, saying I requested them, a vehicle inspection report generated by either welcome or the auction, I cannot work it out?
Documents saying Loan account front sheets, with different dates on?
Letters that I have sent to Welcome for reduced payment, SAR, CCA and a response letter after the Branch Manager got my info wrong (including his spelling mistakes, I couldn't resist) 3 expenditure forms, a letter welcoming me to Welcome Finance (lol), the HP Agreement, direct debit mandate, application form for HP, Tier 8 acceptance doc, my bank statements and wage slips, glass information services doc, prove urn authentication results doc, a transcript of manual intervention (assuming, as it seems like computer in-putted notes), a letter stating they have recently sent a default notice and intend to get goods etc back (after they took the car, and no evidence of a default notice, my credit report also shows no default), a hire purchase statement from birth till now, a vehicle condition report when they took the car from me, a letter from Welcome (with their logo displayed) authorising that Country Wide is repossessing/collecting the car (I did not receive this letter via post or any other means until I received the SAR information), another letter the same as mentioned (vt) minus the welcome logo, sellers invoice, VT Desk checklist and
Uplist request (welcome), computer generated (could be excel) VT thingy? a letter to welcome from Country Wide (assuming as there is not company header etc.), a letter from Country Wide saying that they are taking my car to my phantom "wish" to VT???

I have included the CCA for your perusal, could you have a look and see what issues you can find?

I feel that they have taken my car without first advising me of my options, so they have repossessed unlawfully (informed consent I think?), also I have not VT'd the car as I have not given them written consent (Welcome has defined it a VT as their docs identify this) they have never written to me to acknowledge VT, but in the SAR info there is a letter saying that they instruct Country Wide to collect/repossess the car on their behalf following my consent to VT - REALLY, I had no option and I did not receive this letter, my agreement states that in order for the car to be VT'd then it MUST de done in writing? They included the deposit onto the agreement then deducted it so I am paying the interest check it out if you are good with sums? They have included GARDEX, then removed so I am paying the interest on that!? They have added useless insurances onto my account, I have know idea what they are, I have not received any policies etc for them, not included in the SAR info neither and they have miss calculated the interest for the insurances, I should be paying more - check to see if I am right?

Thanks all, if you require anymore info then please ask.

                          Thanks again.
