  • AA - Notice of arrears

    Hi all

I keep getting Notices of Arrears from the AA regarding a loan. I have been over the last 2 years written to by various DCAs in regard to this laon and each time I send a 'prove it letter/CCA request and I don't hear from them again until the next DCA gets in touch (about 3 or 4 at current count). So far so good. However the AA still sends me the Notice of Arrears as well as statement of arrears. As you can guess I've never received any 'hello/goodbye' letters. So I'm wondering how to deal with this. Either ignore until next DCA gets in touch or contact AA to establish status of who owes the debt.

    Advice appreciated

Personally I would send a prove it letter to AA also

Do you know anything else about this alleged debt? ?

I get these notices from them as well and have been paying the AA via their DCAs Blair Oliver Scott for years. They are standard statements of account albeit that the wording on them is frightening to the uninitiated. To be fair, in my case, as I am paying them and acknowledge the liability, the AA are doing what other creditors should do (but don't) in sending me statements of account. I would just file them.

Re: AA - Notice of arrears

        Hi all

I'm happy to pay the debt but I want clarification on who to pay to(Some of the DCA's have been claiming the debt is to a bank!). I've CCA'd the AA - no response, send income and expenditure details etc - no response. In addition the credit card part of the AA are quite happy receiving a reduced payment but the Loan side of them seems to be doing their best to confuse matters.

Maybe go back to square one and send a 'prove it' letter to AA.

        sigh

Re: AA - Notice of arrears

                Ok now I see

so you just want clarification as to pay the money to for the Loan but you keep getting different DCA asking for the money

If you are willing to pay it I would send a letter to AA loan Depertment saying you want clarification as who to pay the money to as you have had xx different amounts of DCA's (and name them) chasing this debt and you will NOT pay them all, so unless AA loan department clarifies who to pay the debt to then you will not be paying anyone

sumit like that and see what they reply with (if they reply)

yeah, IF they do. I found AA really poor at responding.

Re: AA - Notice of arrears

Thanks for all your comments. To be honest I'd be thankful if they took me to court but that's probably unlikely at the moment. I'm currently unemployed so chances of getting any substantial repayment from me is unlikely but I'd be happy just paying a token amount until I get sorted. It seems to me that these companies don't work in their own interests (or their shareholders)whether it's due to institutional stupidity or just laziness I just don't know.
