I had a similar problem last year this time with a lap top from PC world,it started to go wrong, not big stuff and I was in almost daily contact with the help desk.
Eventually they came to collect it and a week later it came back with a new hard drive!
No explanation as to what the problem was and so far, touch wood, no re-occurrence!
