        Re: Barclaycard - no CCA

Just had a card this morning from Mercers saying they will be calling between 8 am and 7pm on 24th November. Rather vague I would say. I think what prompted this card was the fact that the last time they telephoned I told them that the number had been changed for the person they were trying to reach. I'm fed up with them. Shop direct at least had the decency to admit that without a CCA they could not chase the debt and are therefore not, BA/Mercers have no more paperwork on me than Shop direct but are still acting like ****holes!

You best order more tea & biscuits from the supermarket, make them feel welcome, then you have an excuse to stuff yourself with extra biccies........................they will not come

            Re: Barclaycard - no CCA

Sounds great, however I have a really hectic life, having two young kids so I have no intention to hang about in case they do come. To be honest I'm almost beyond caring.

Thanks so much for all your help guys, its helped me regain my sanity.

I love the old DCA "We'll be calling" cards.
They are as vacuous as the phone monkeys

                Re: Barclaycard - no CCA

Just got a letter this morning from Mercers saying that they are going to pass my details on to a local debt collection agency who may visit me at home. A bit of a contradiction would you not say, considering that the post card received the other day stated they will be calling on me on the 24th...

I am becoming immune to toothless bullies.

Incidentally the letter was dated 11th November and I had '48 hours notice to stop further action'. Oh well its now the 16th so, as did fuzzy, I'll file this letter under I for ignore!!

                      Re: Barclaycard - no CCA

Calders have just sent me another letter - basically saying they are now offering me a one off chance to settle the debt before they pass it back to Barclaycard.

I haven't bothered resonding to them....

So Fuzzy, Calders are that toothless afterall. They have given up with you so are passing it back to BC. Anyone for a game of tennis?

                          Re: Barclaycard - no CCA

And we are on to the next DCA - which happens to be my old favourites........... Aktiv Kapital!!!!!

According to them they have previously written to me and I have ignored then - well they haven't written to me before, but I would have ignbored them so it makes little difference i guess!!!

Anyhow they are demanding I clear the balnce of just over £8,000 - the orginial figure whgen this all started was just over £2,500!!!!!

Apparently i need to call them to set up a payment plan - I don't think so!!!

Do i need to send them "account in dispute" letter or do i just ignore them????

File it for now and see if they can be bothered to write again.
Are we looking at another DCA who have "bought" the debt from B'card or is this BCW acting for AK ?

                              Thanks CB

On the letter it says that the outstanding balance with BC has been transferred to AK.

I haven't been notified by BC that the debt has been sold. Calders said that if I didn't pay them (Calders) then the debt would be sent back to BC, so perhaps BC have sold it on????

I wonder how many DCA's exist in this country. BC will run out of them soon, surely!!

I got a post card from Calders recently stating they will be visiting me soon, whippee can't wait. Will have the biscuits in.......
