  • Old jd williams accounts

Hi, i have several old catalogue debts with j d williams group under all their brands. I have not paid any of these off. I have never been contacted about them nor have i contacted them. The accounts are all over 8 years old. However theybare all being reported on my credit file and have not been defaulted. Should i get them removed or leave them on there forever as they all show over credit limit.

    Hi Arthurfleck

    Welcome to LB

Providing no payments or acknowledgement of the debt has been made in the last 6 years, the debt is statute barred, as long as there is no CCJ. If the accounts has been closed, they should 'drop off' after 6 years.

That is the issue, they have never closed the accounts. So they will sit on your credit report.

I would send them a Statute Barred letter, so they close them.

Tell them they need removing from your credit file.
