    I remember being told years ago that if you pay a catalogue debt at even £1 a week they can't take you to court as you are showing willing to pay.
    Could someone confirm if this is right please?

    Unfortunately this is not true. A creditor can issue proceedings at any time that the original agreement to repay is not being adhered too.

    It may well go in the debtors favour that payments are being made, but making token payments, for example of £1 per week, does not prevent court action.
