By what process is your Bank allowed to remove money from your account without your permission.

I've been a good by and fighting the good fight, when some eejit pays in a cheque dated for the end of the month and the Bank remove 'a £28 managed service' charge one day b4 EoM for exceeding my agreed limit.

and another thing

With RBS if you have gold card (not asked for) they remove £12 for perks that I never use, can I claim this back as at no time did I ask for this service and the charge was made automatically.

This will be from the previous month that it was taken and you will have had a statement telling you of your charges for that month in advance.

This is a service charge and is not reclaimable, you will have to get the original paper work that changed your account to a fee paying account. Enaid x

Ask them for evidence of your request/permission to upgrade your a/c quoting cklause 7.2 of the Banking Code. If they can't supply it, insist it is downgraded and monthly a/c fee refunded

7.2 We will not upgrade your current account from a free account to a fee-paying account without your permission, unless we plan to upgrade all free accounts of that type.

What about that automatic removal malarkey when they just take what they want without your permission, what gives them the right to do that??
