  • Sandbag V Barclays Round 3

Hi all - just about to start round 3 against Barclays - £150 in charges in last 3 months. I'm also writing a letter of complaint about fees for having an Additions account - something i do not remember asking for. Has anyone been successful in getting a refund for the additions fees?
    Cheers Sandbag.

Re: Sandbag V Barclays Round 3

I am not aware of anyone successfully reclaiming these fees. Probably because the title of the account and the charges for it would be clearly visible on a statement, therefore even if you had not requested it you could have asked for its removal almost immediately. Still doesn't make it right though......
I'd suggest maybe try tackling the additions fees as a separate complaint to the charges. Demand an explanation. See if you can get anything back at all on good will.
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

Hi all - just checked my bank account and i have been refunded 6 months worth of additions fees to the tune of £138 - result. No response from Barclays however from my complaint letter.
        Cheers Sandbag.

Well its a start at least, did they give any reason for the refunds? Good will etc?

May be another thing to claim if they give up easily

No reason given, just states refund on my statement. I have probably paid out more in additions fees but as said earlier i should have done something about it at an earlier date- so i'm happy with my £138.

              Cheers Sandbag.

Hi all - i have received a reply from Barclays regarding my LBA. I have gone over the 14 day period ( due to having other things to worry about). The reply just waffles on about the OFT court case. So should i now make a claim in the county court? Is it better to download an N1 form or is still ok to use MYCOL?
                Thanks all
                Sandbag.
PS and well done to all those that attended the court case from this site especially Tools!
