Re: Failing to comply with DPA 1998 principle(s)
Hi FP,
Sure. I made a request for my information to a company (under DPA 1998) because I had a reason to believe that it withheld some key information which I needed. The company, although it submitted some information going back to over 10 yrs, they claimed it only retains data for a six year period. The decision by the Information Commissioner's Office is that the company has breached the sixth data protection principle, because the company has failed to disclose/does not hold any record of when exactly the data was destroyed.

If you wish to take legal action under the DPA you may want to look at this publication from the ICO: http://www.ico.org.uk/Global/faqs/~/..._TO_COURT.ashx
