  • NatWest Bank-- Common complaints, what are yours?

Ok, the title is appalling by my standards but the most common complaints that I am aware of is
    1) Plastic cards not arriving or not being delivered to correct address
    2) Address changes not being done
    3) Not enough staff

The above examples are some of the things that appears people seem annoyed about but what else is there?

I will go with No 3, not enough staff at lunch time, this is the busiest time and can be covered with good effect IMO
Other than that, unlike so many others I have no complaints

This is more branch specific than general, but my local branch only has steps to access it but has a bell to press if you need help.
You've more chance of Lord Lucan giving you a hand than a member of staff coming out to help you.

I really need to be specific. problems in general and not branch specific, ie no flowers etc, etc,.

I have some good ideas at times that emanate from my disgust at how little people understand the stuff that goes on behind the scenes. I will have a think maybe on this one more and do what I was going to do anyway

On a technical Note. They need to change the material that their debit cards are made of. Mine has an expiry life of 3 years, but with Chip & Pin introduced, I find that the card will barely last 6 months before it cracks and falls apart.

actually I think I will leave this thread open as an open complaints one and answer each and every one I can. so here goes.
Enaid, not enough staff- the bank continue to monitor staffing levels and do offer other means for people to do their banking such as rapid deposit machines, paying in through the ATM and online/telephone banking.

Pkea, speak with the branch specifically and ask them the question because they may be all too aware of this, and ask them if the bell is there for that purpose. With the Disability Discrimination Act and access to buildings, the bank has been caught in buildings that are listed or buildings that they are unable to make all purpose. The bell thing does need to be queried with branch and maybe taken forward.

Tools, the bank work with a number of lawyers who dependent on their perspective can be *******s or the best thing since sliced bread.

Nik. I tend to agree with you that the material they use for plastic cards is pretty shoddy and the cards very rarely get to the renewal point unless not used or used sparsely which are both unlikely scenarios

Can I just add a total godsend to this. Although Natwest like many banks are utter rip off merchants when it comes to ensuring their profits are still rendered from the poor unfortunate have nots,........... I have to say, from opening other bank accounts last year, that I am still glad I have my Natwest account, because whenever I want to talk to somebody, I GET A LOVELY ENGLISH PERSON AT THE END OF THE PHONE LINE WHO TALKS TO ME IN PERFECT LEGIBLE ENGLISH IN TERMS AND LANGUAGE I CAN UNDERSTAND and not some guy in India who hasnt a clue what Im on about and who I have to ask to repeat himself at least 5 times before I get what hes saying..................... I have to say, thank god for english call centres. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, even though Rat West ripped me off for years, its such a relief to get an english person, speaking clear and legible english when I ring. Hallellujah is all I can say, hence why Ive never closed the advantage gold account. Ive kept it open because to be honest, its the easiest most helpful bank account I HAVE. With A & L and Barclays, its a bloody nightmare dealing with a faceless person.................... go Nattie. and a Happy New Year to all.

Fendy, long time no see, but I do tend to agree with one thing that RBS Group have done which is UK based call centres and not outsourcing to the subcontinent(although they have a base out there to do so).

Like I said Nattie.............. credit where its due. They are in tune with what customers want i.e a clear legible english speaking person. Yaaaaaaaaaaay,, go Natwest on that one...................... You get my vote for keeping my bank account with you any day of the week based on my dealings with my new banks I have accounts with. OK, you have much to learn on the customer service front and taking bank charges, but I cant fault your ideas on british call centres. It gets my vote every time. xxx

"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )
