    It's common knowledge that they have ridden rough shod over their customers for years.
    Sounds like the same bad attitude is being handed out to the RBS Group staff:

    "Unite national officer David Fleming said: "It is the workforce at Royal Bank of Scotland who are working around the clock to resolve the problems customers are facing. Yet RBS management has slashed 30,000 staff, imposed a pay cut and decimated the pensions of those dedicated staff who are now working hard to resolve the problems."Serious questions must be asked as to why constant job cuts are being made when there are clearly serious issues which need addressing by management. Customers and staff have the right to expect more from their bank.
    "Unite, on behalf of the staff who have given up their evenings and weekend to address the problems, will demand answers as to why staffing levels are being cut at a time of considerable problems within the bank," Fleming said.

    Perhaps, the lady who left her deposit on the steps of RBS Winchester branch on Sunday morning 24/06/2012 was attempting to convey her contempt;
    maybe, even a disgruntled former member of staff who had been plopped on by RBS!?

        Re: Rbs fans important message

        On another forum someone reminded me that it's not just RBS accounts affected but workers who's pay is from a business that does it's banking with RBS Group. Clearly, that knock on effect, we have not heard much about, ie those who were not paid by their company who bank with RBS group but have subsequently had their DD's returned. That is perhaps an angle not particularly covered very well in the news media at the moment.

          This has now become really serious. Number two son has arrived back at home claiming he can't get money due to cock-up. It took us half a lifetime to get rid of him. Can I claim this as an out of pocket expense from RBS. They did say that no-one would be left out of pocket. I fear I may be the exception to the rule. I don't even bank with them.

          I predict some chloroform and a midnight repositioning.

                When I phoned this morning to find out IF and WHEN my regular mortgage payment had gone out, the person did seem to "sound" different and no disrespect had a strong accent which was not English of Scottish.
                Still do not know if mortgage company have received our payment wish I could be brave enough to deposit more than money!

                  That might explain why they do not seem to understand the difference between banking and bonking.

                    On reflection, the original depositor in Winchester Hants was very brave or;
                    the stress that RBS put her through caused the loss of control!

                          Re: Rbs fans important message

                          I read the articles yesterday about that and you kinda get the brick wall built up again to bang your head on. I hope that lots of people leave RBS Group and that more importantly Corporate customers rethink whether they want to bank in an organisation that has caused in England, Scotland and Wales enormous hardship to their workers to the point of starvation.

                          For those in Northern Ireland with Ulster Bank it is a pathetic sham
                          http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-18657127

                          If you look at the BBC news site for Northern Ireland it is their top story since it has been almost 2 weeks since the problem occurred and no fix in site yet....

                          Mervyn King, Governor of the Bank of England has called for an enquiry on this episode:
                          http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-18595290

                          That's what happens when you basically make your IT staff redundant and/or allow inexperienced staff to do the upgrade on their own systems......

                            For a change I completely agree with you. I think apologising when the issue is not fixed, whilst it might be nice PR is unsatisfactory. The fact that he has decided not to take his bonus next year is hardly a great thing since he held out for so long this year. Ultimately, the investors in RBS Group including the taxpayer must be reaching for the bottle as the share price takes another nosedive.....
