  • Paperless Statements

Just a quick one here - despite signing up for electronic statements a few months ago, Santander have just kept on sending paper statements to me. I have had previous re-assurances that there wouldn't be any more, then hey-presto, another one lands on the mat!
Lodged an online complaint - took a call a couple of days ago from them - lots of apologies and a £25 ex-gratia payment into my account.
    Every little helps!!

I don't need to demand paper statements - Santander are still sending them to me, despite months of promises that they would stop - in December I received two copies!
I have been assured (again!) that I won't get any more - seeing is believing.

          at super

santander is legally obligated by FSA to send paper statements until the proposal of going paperless is accepted by them

if u do not want statments from them, call them and make them put a ''returned mail'' indicator on ur account which will stop ALL correspondence from bank including letters to inform u about ur account eligible for upgrade/update, if u happy wth tht go for it and u wudnt get any statement what so ever

source, - i work for a major high street bank

But that would mean that the renewal card would not be sent out and would in effect be destroyed thereby causing more hassle to the customer. Does their online facility not offer the paperless option? It should do or alternatively the customer statement should be changed from monthly to yearly which would mean one statement per year.

@ above. santander do not do paperless statements at all....... only exception is old alliance and liester accounts, and as the online banking system had been recently merged now those old A & L accounts dont get an option to go paperless, santander has circulated letters regarding the same and no one wud get any money for making this as complaint, they wud just sent a poliet letter apologising and mentioning tht santander is in process to go paperless but FSA wud need to confirm it

Why do the FSA need to confirm it and what rule is that about?
