  • Is it morally right to leave a bank if you know they are/have acted unlawfully?

I saw a thread OTR in my trawl around in which a vehement poster who defended charges came back with news he had left the bank. Another bank worker said they would leave the bank soon because he knew their policy was unlawful. It got me thinking whether, morally, I should be considering leaving the bank? It is a tough question to answer, many people would say yes because of what you know. But has morality got anything to do with earning a living? I am not working for say Amnesty International, for example, and I enjoy the job regardless of what that entails. So although this is here, morally is it right to leave a job because they have or are acting lawfully and you are aware of it within the course of your job?

I think in your case quite the opposite Nattie as you are using your knowledge of their unlawful practices to (hopefully) help put their wrongs right.

Yes nattie many professions have little underhanded things going on but the decent people in those professions carry on and hope to put things right.

It all boils down to you as a person, what feels right to you.
I left the Police due to internal politics and policies.
