Recently contacted Natwest to enquire if I had PPI with a loan from them I took out in 2004. Received a reply to say I had. As I had a long abscence from work I was further advised to make a backdated claim.I did so and they paid the claim, complication arose as I had defaulted on the loan and am in a debt management programme. (Natwest) insurance informed me that they could only pay into a Natwest account. I told them that I thought my account closed, but was told to visit the branch and make sure it was. When I went aboutten days ago the chap at enquiries told me the money would be "swallowed up" by the large amount in debit showing on the account. He advised me tro contact my debt management company to have the money paid direct to me. When I did they said they could not help with this. Last thing he did in the bank was to put in a request for a cashcard. I have heard nothing since, so have written to all parties, any advice or comments will be gratefully received

Re: ppi claim etc
I would email the CEO of the whole organisation because it would be dealt with via the executive complaints team and that the response you would have is quicker. No snail mail required, just an email with a brief chronology should suffice."Family means that no one gets forgotten or left behind"

RBS and NatWest are basically one and the same, these days. Go for it, mate.

Last time I dealt with the executive complaint team, Sandra Gordon was head of RBS Group Customer Relations. She will be able to respond or to get the most appropriate person to respond.
You have to have confidence in your approach, ie this is my situation, this is the response from yourselves, this is what I have done, and this is what has happened.
You have to state that you want to know x y and z because currently you know a p b(you don't understand those last three initials either ).
When you get a response post up on here and we will see where we go from here."Family means that no one gets forgotten or left behind"

Re: ppi claim etc
I still dont seem to be getting anywhere. I had a call last Friday saying they were going to supply a cashcard, second time, apparently the first chap did not order it. I am considering a complaint to the financial ombudsman if I do not here something satisfactory in the next couple of weeks, unless anyone can offer any alternative? Chap at local branch confirmed settlement had gone into my account.

Re: ppi claim etc
should have mentioned I did contact a couple of the "names" no reply from one and the other from Stephen Hesters office said they were passing my enquiry toi the PPI team in Manchester as they dealt with all PPI matters. Chap on phone from my local branch asked me to call in to the branch as it was quicker, but I dont feel comfortable with that!!

If you have not received a response and it has been 5 working days then send an email to her and say that you have not received any response from the PPI team."Family means that no one gets forgotten or left behind"

Re: ppi claim etc
thanks leclerc for your reply, however after a prolonged search for her e-mail address I could not find it, hence the e-mail I sent to Stephen Hesters office. I now await some response from somebody! Again I was told he had ordered a cashcard (over the phone) but a week has gone by and I have not received anything on this ( pasword or card) would I be out of order to consider a complaint to the ombudsman? Just to refresh the problem:- made a claim for long term sickness, backdated, settled it and said they could only pay into Natwest account, but I want the cash to reduce outstanding balance as I ina debt management programme. I only want confirmation this has been done! Never expected to be paid in cash.
