Hi all,
Bit late in the day as this one is all done & dusted, but thought I should share it as it might inspire others to give it a try
A few weeks back I was looking through some old statements and it suddenly dawned on me that -
a) we'd never actually asked for our account to be 'upgraded' from silver to platinum etc etc
b) we'd not really made use of the 'benefits' of these packaged accounts as we already had similar cover elsewhere.
So I wrote a brief letter explaining this to LTSB who whilst they weren't prepared to refund all the fees charged over the years, did offer a refund of one year's worth of packaged account fees............which we accepted as to be honest I wasn't expecting to get anywhere with this one
I should add that whilst there don't seem to be many packaged account fee refund success stories out there, those I have come across seem to be where the customer was elderly or otherwise unable to make use of the account 'benefits', but in the case of Mr Wops and myself we don't fit that pattern and therefore hopefully this should encourage others to have a go at reclaiming these inflated fees
