This is the do that Tom's going along to. I can't help thinking he's going to be like a fish out of water there.

Unfortunately Tom is now unemployed again. The downturn in the property market - he worked on planning law - resulted in cutbacks in the FSI planning & property department and as last in, he was first out.

He does seem quite chippa though and is looking forward to Peterborough where I'm sure he'll get a drink or two bought for him.

Eeeek! Poor Tom....thats really bad luck for him. Wishing him good luck in his search for a new job.
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )
