hsbc are a bunch of crooks and will try to twist your words, get you onto a managed loan(don,t do it at any cost) arrange a "token" payment and then taking a bigger lump than agreed,as leclerc said metro are a dca for hsbc and hsbc actually own them, write to them and accept everything in writing, do not attempt to deal with them over the phone, one silver cloud is if you have a lump sum metro are very easy to get a deal from, if you have a good lump sum you might be able to get everything paid off, they will threaten you with everything bar dropping you over a cliff but stay strong,be focused and don,t give into bullying metro will cut a deal.

then do it. don't waste any more time. ask HSBC for their final response but, in any event, lodge a complaint with the FOS now. i took my complaint to the ombudsman and won. hard slog, but the bank had to recall the account they had closed and revoke the default etc.

p.s. if you need help completing the fos complaint form then i'll gladly help you draft it. just PM me.

              Re: hsbc complaint

right my credit card debt which metropoliton were dealing with is paid at a lower settlement figure which hsbc aggreed, and they marked it as settled which hsbc were only going to mark as partially settled!
I have pursued my complaint with hsbc asking it to be looked at by senior management whch is being done. Ive basically told them that there are flaws in there arguement that i missed the deadline date of payment that was agreeded. i told them that i never agreed a date of payment until i recieved a correct full and final settlement letter. i pointed out even in the settlement offer they sent which contained wrong information the letter stated to pay as soon as possible. i cant see they have a arguement but i wait for their response this time looking at the evidence of letters and phone calls and not just getting the word of the financial guidance team.

                  Re: hsbc complaint

had a call from the complaints team today and they asked me what i would like the outcome of the investigation to my complaint to be?????? i told them i want to settle my loan at a cheaper settlement. well i didnt really know what to say, it was all a bit odd. it seams as if they might think they are in the wrong.
i went down to the bank and showed them a copy of the aggrement that i was sent that hsbc say is different to the on they had on their system, and there was no copy of the letter hsbc sent???
well the guy in the bank wrote on the notes what my letter contained and was in aggrement with me.
Then the financial guidance manager rang me basiclly saying the loan was being passed to metro on the 5 of june and that was the end of that really.
my complaint is still on going and metro have been easy to deal with so i will deal with them and wait a response on my complaint.
are they hoping i will have everything settled shortly??
can i get any compensation after clearing my debts with them?
