Re: Oops a Daisy!
Everyone knows a computer cannot think for itself, it needs people to feed the info in and programme it, too many companies hide behind the old saying 'the computer did it', total rollocks and we know it.
Indeed sapphire do they really thing we are so stupid quite an insult.
If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of payments.

Re: Oops a Daisy!
this is true however i have earned more interest on my account than any other bank, my inv has done better than the same type i hold with hsbc and halifax. I also note that this is one of the few banks that is holding its own despite almost every other bank either having tax payers money to keep it open or selling large chunks (barclays inv arm) to stay open. this is a bad mistake however i have benefited a lot so its shallow to turn on them the second they make a mistake. loyalty works both ways

I have no personal grudge against them - my mortgage was with Abbey and they were very good, but as you say this is a bad mistake AND being the type of institution they are, they should have procedures in place to ensure it does not happen in my opinion.

They have stated that no one can commit ID fraud with the information that went out. Now, you have asked the question about loyalty which I don't think is right. No one would say that they were a fan of any bank/building society since you don't cheer them to get them to make a profit.
How far does loyalty go? You MIGHT be one of those 35000 people - I sincerely hope for your sake you're not.
People affected are all those who's statement goes out on the 18th of the month.

I don't know why this happened and why it was not picked up earlier but I suspect everything is automated so a big **** up at their place where statements are printed and packaged ready to be sent out."Family means that no one gets forgotten or left behind"

They have stated that no one can commit ID fraud with the information that went out. They have also stated it included bank account numbers, sort codes, names - are you really saying a professional criminal gang couldn't do something with those details? Now, you have asked the question about loyalty which I don't think is right. No one would say that they were a fan of any bank/building society since you don't cheer them to get them to make a profit. I actually responded to the issue of loyalty posted by Froggs88. He also states, "I vote Santander number 1 in my life!" so I would not agree no-one would say they were a fan of any bank/building society.

The remainder I agree with!

Re: Oops a Daisy!
I am one of the people whos details have been sent out. My statement date is the 18th. However i just went to the branch and have been told that money cannot be taken using the datails of the statement, hence why the branches no longer accept statements as a form of id (and have not for some years). If money is taken fraudelently they have assured me that it will be refunded. what more can be done, i am satisfied that my account will be looked after in the even that something would happen.
