HSBC, I sent them an SAR, they sent me a list of charges. But I've got all the statements baring 1 year since I opened the account. I've got payslips and cheque book for that year, so I can reconstruct the statements.
I've got an opening and closing balance. I want to charge Compound Interest, what rate should I charge them?
    I've got a good idea.

Are these bank charges or credit card charges?

Unless you qualify to reclaim the charges under the terms of the hardship waiver then I am afraid your complaint/claim will be held pending the outcome of the OFT v Banks test case. A decision is expected shortly from the Supreme Court.

The EAR is Variable at 19.9% on my overdraft, the interest has doubled in the last couple of years. Can I justyify claiming more then 19.9%?

Remember that you will be looking to apply interest in RESTITUTION. So it would be unfair to apply more than the rate applicable to your own account. It's not meant to be a compensatory figure, as lawfully, you are not entitled to compensation as such.

                Only IMVHO of course.

Are you actually submitting a claim into court for this?

I want to Claim back all the bank charges that I can, so if I have to go to court to get them back, then yes,
every time I think I've cracked it, something else crops up. all my statements are scanned so I haven't got
the interest rate charges at the back, to claim back the interest element of the charge.
