This bit explains arrestment which seems to indicate that you would have been taken to court. Were you and what did you do?

Hi Craigie,

I too have had this happen to me I bank with the Clydesdale Bank, it was about 3 years ago now and was for council tax if I remember correctly I did receive notification from the bank as they need authorisation from yourself to release the funds if they are available.
