Hi all, i wonder if anyone can help
I have a step account, i was caught in branch to upgrade my account to a current account (one with no monthly charges) wiht a cheque book. I thought great this is good and assumed that my step acount would be changed automatically. It turns out this wasnt the case and as such a cheque didnt go out so got a massive £38 charge. then charges on top of charges now im at -300. as i result i never got round to changing my account over to this new account. I rang natwest up months ago stating teh above that it wasnt clearly explained that my account was going to be updated but they wouldnt have any of this and told me i had to repay the unauthorised overdraft back using a reducing overdraft and payments of £50 a month, i said i couldnt afford this but they said this is lowet they could do. i paid this for a few months then couldnt afford it as i had other bills to pay more charges have now been applied. I have had a letter saying i they are going to put default in so many days.
What do i do? Im am now a single parent and have debt letters coming in to repay other bills. i cant repay everything. can i claim these charges back even if they said no onthe phone?
