  • CIFAS Marker - Gambling

Please please help (apologies posted this in the wrong chat initially)
Kroo messaged me on the app on Tuesday to say they were closing my account with immediate effect following review of my account. For the past few months I have been depositing money in to my Kroo account from my Santander Account and using it on a gambling platform (mystake). I was in a stressful situation, trying to make money (stupid mistake I know). I had absolutely no idea that what I was doing was wrong. The bank have never called to say what’s going on or blocked anything. So I really did not know I was doing wrong. Any winnings I received were being put back into my normal Santander account.
I have been worrying that a cifa marker will be added. I had no idea about these until reading something on tuesday when I googled about having a bank account closed. I’m beyond stressed. With a mortgage due for renewal end of this year, a family and a small business.
Is it likely I will get a cifa marker?
I don’t know what to do.
As mentioned the bank haven’t phoned or asked me what was happening. Just immediately closed my account. LI put a request into CIFAs to see if a marker had been added but that has come back clear for now, but appreciate it may be too soon, as the bank account was officially closed today.
I can’t think of anything else right now, just absolutely scared and worried about the impact.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

    Hi Leahtwig

    Welcome to LB

The Santander website will have a complaints procedure, follow it,
have a look at their Terms and Conditions, make you case.
Explain your personal circumstances etc, the stress it's caused
etc. Take your time writing it. What's happened, the effect it's
had on you and what you want them to do.

      thank you for responding.

It's Kroo that have closed my bank (not santander). I was gambling from the Kroo account. I have already messaged them back to ask why my account has been closed, btut they have not responded

        Lodge a complaint with Kroo's.

        https://help.kroo.com/hc/en-gb/artic...se-a-complaint

Update when you get a response.

They are regulated by the FCA.
