  • Interest refund under C F P advice on statement?

    Hi all,

Does anyone know what ‘Interest refund - C F P advice’ on a mortgage current account statement would mean please? It’s been credited for a few months now, out of the blue. I don’t want to post too much publicly but can share more if anyone who understands can message me.

There has been no payments into the account for some time and a high balance.

I’ve Googled but can’t seem to find any information as to what it can mean or any liability being admitted by the refund etc.

    Thanks,

    FL

CFP stands for Certified Financial Planner and this professional is probably employed by the mortgage lender

Recently there has been small changes in the interest rates and some mortgage lenders have followed suit by reducing their rates

I could be wrong, but I suspect the interest refund is because you have been overcharged interest and the lender has now recalculated interest on the lower rates
