  • Sending a S.A.R. to Abbey

We've had an account with Abbey for just over 8 years. The few charges over this time have been refunded on request. At present we have a small overdraft of £500.00.So no problems there.
We used to have our mortgage with Abbey and I'm sure we would have incurred some late payment charges. My question is if I send them a S.A.R, I know they're not supposed to but, are they likely to
    (a) take away our overdraft limit
    (b)close our account or
    (c) both.

You need not give them a reason for your SAR, you also should not be specific to request only details of charges or your mortgage, you should ask for every piece of data they hold on you for as long as they hold it, not just the 6 years.
