  • Me Vs Natwest

    Hi Guys,

I received my initial reply from NatWest today, only 9 days since I sent the initial letter out.

In short, they're saying they won't progress my application until the OFT test case has come to a close, pointing out that their charges are fair and informed in various literature, in-store and on the website.

Here is the letter they sent (2 pages):

Could you guys let me know what action to take next, if any?

    Thanks, as always LB!

I read your letter on another site(yourbank for reference) and I will repeat that the letter is fairly standard. Do you have rent/mortgage arrears, council tax arrears. utilities arrears?

      Hi Bugsy,

You got the standard fob off. Now you need to follow this up with theses letters.

Subject Access Request - DPA - getting your information

      Preliminary Request for Repayment

      Letter before Action

N1 - Particulars of Claim for taking the bank to court (not recommended at present for bank charges due to the waiver)

If you have already sent some of these just skip to the next letter.

      Good Luck.

I didn't ever need a SAR because I have all my statements and I have already sent off my prelim. Hence the reply they've sent me which I posted here lol.

So I take it, LBA next up for me?

How far back did you go with the charges?

Well, it's my 2nd claim so I've gone back pretty much 2 years, a month after my last claim left off lol.

Send the LBA and stick to the time scale given, keep pushing them.

                Thanks guys!

I know this is going to sound stupid, but should I address it to the person who replied to my prelim? A Lyn Kirkland? And include her in my salutation?

                  Re: Me Vs Natwest

I would, then you have somone you can keep nagging rather than being pushed from one person to another.

                    Re: Me Vs Natwest

Okay, it's just because I was told to address my prelim AND LBA to this address:

                    Customer Service Response Unit
                    The Cornerstone
                    60 South Gyle Crescent
                    Edinburgh
                    EH12 9WF

But, from the reply they sent, it was addressed from:

                    Customer Service Response Unit
                    Drummond House
                    First Floor
                    1 Redheughs Avenue
                    Edinburgh
                    EH12 9JN

Right, thanks. So I'll address the letter to Lyn, but send it to The Cornerstone place rather than where she replied from. A bit illogical but I'll give it a shot!

I have some really bad news to say. Both addresses are the same building, it's just that one address is one entrance, and the other one is another entrance.
