  • OFT related but NatWest specific.

I am going to try and cover a few things around the OFT case and some things that may be implied with NatWest. I have yet to see this happen but am pre empting it as well as other issues that people seem to have.

NatWest only have data going back 6 years
Total and utter nonsense. I am afraid template letters have given the impression that Subject Access Requests are only 6 years statements when it is all data which will go back to 1992 if your account was held at that time with NatWest.

NatWest do not have to provide details while the test case is on going.
I have seen Yorkshire use this argument but the Data Protection Act 1998 has not been repealed since that time.

NatWest will be honouring offers sent out prior to the OFT case announcement.
    That bit is true.

No claims will be allowed in the court until the test case is settled.
That is not correct as i write this now. All cases should go on as usual.

Joyce Tudor in Retail Regulatory Risk is hating my posts on all charges sites.
I am really sorry but this bit is true. I have posted untruths in the details that have been given to customers and they are printing them off the sites and either emailing them or faxing them for her. Joyce, if you are reading this, I never asked people to email or fax them, but I do know NatWest systems very well.

Unpaid items/ referral charges/ guaranteed card payment fees are not covered by the OFT test case
That is not correct. They are all covered under the bracket of unauthorised borrowing.
