  • Scam Spoof Phising Emails

Ok, not sure if we should have an area to post the fakes and spoof emails to prevent others from responding to them.

These are a couple I received re Alliance & Leicester

I have added them as PDFs rather than cut and paste so the links dont work.

I will also look into finding the banks spoof/suspcious email adresses to forward any of these emails to them for checking.

I have recieved at least 20 phishing Emails for bank details in the past few months. They all seem to land in the Junk Email box, so are pretty easy to detect. They are also for banks which I have never dealt with.

    Keep em peeled,

    Best wishes,
    Hod...Liam..
Borrow money from a pessimist -- they don't expect it back.

I recieve loads of them as i have a few domain names, i get them addressed to weird names like dasg@.., 12hkfdk@.. and so on

But some do look real, esp if you actually bank with them.
So just thought it might be something extra to offer to forum members to keep them aware of the lastest spoofs

Basically there is a very simple rule of thumb to follow.

If you get an email from your bank, that asks you to confirm any information at all, or asks you to click on any website. Either bin it straight away

        OR

Open a new browser, TYPE the address in yourself, and log into your account that way and see if any information needs verifying. No email from any bank will request you verify any personal information.

Ooooh I get these too, and all for banks I don't have accounts with. So far I have had Barclays, Woolwich, Lloyds, Abbey, HSBC oh and Paypal.

I think I nearly have the full set, one of them I got within 24 hours of getting a new email address.

Other half was curious as to why I keep getting these (along with the Viagra, porn and shares), until he got one ther other day.

I tend to just delete them.

I can send you a couple from Nationwide, Halifax, BOS, & Smile Delta, to add to the set

I usually have, in an average week about 1200 spam emails to my various email accounts. Luckily as they all go though BT before they reach my outlook, I don't get any of them
