Offer letter from Nastywest

Hi all,
Had to start a new thread as this is a charges one not the PPI.
Rang home before my wife said there is a letter from natwest telling me all there terms and conditions blah di blah and how there charges are a service and I should have asked for a bigger overdraft and I would not have had charges.The bottom line is they offered £3196 as settlement saying this is charges plus interest if I say no they will consider taking my overdraft away fro me.The original claim was just over 4k with interest and court fees.They have given eight weeks to reply.As before cant do nothing were I am will have to wait and read myself on tuesday when I get home.This was the first claim on charges I made still awaiting the other one.Also Nattie sorry I thought you were female Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Stupid me.

Hi al I think Nattie answered you and said it was nothing to worry about. Best thing is to wait till you come home then you can get the wording right. People will then be able to help you properly, tell your wife not to worry this is all normal, they like to think they can scare us lol.

there really is nothing to worry about. Natwest and Cobbetts are trying to scare you off....... they do it to everyone

I know how you feel.... really I do..... just take a look at my thread.... I've gone into panic mode everytime the swines send me anything. In fact if you read through some of the threads you will see that Natwest and coblers tatics havent really changed since the begining. Better yet, tell you wife to read through some of them....might put her mind at rest a bit

could not sleep with all this on my mind even though I have been up since 5.30am any way the offer from Natwest was dated July 6th I filed on June 29th The court sent it 1st class post deemed to be received on july 8th I thought I would catch them out with the post date on the envelope but it had been franked and no date on it. It is the usual letter I have heared you guys talk about As a gesture of Goodwill we will offer you £3196 paid direct to your bank account. To accept this offer please let me know by filing in blah de Blah any charges that accrue in future will be applied to your account in line with our published Tariff and in acordance with your agreement with the bank.Should you be unwilling to accept such charges then we may need to consider if we are prepared to continue to provide you with your existing banking facillities instead we may offer you a simple account that does not offer you borrowing facillities or other services that can result in charges. My claim was for £3257.75 charges, £680.13 Interest, £120.00 court fees total £4057.88 Can we get our heads around this? re the claim for Misold PPI I will post a thread in the won by default thread that I started and keep them all separate.Cheers guys.

first of of gave them 14 DAYS TO PAY YOU THE FULL AMMT of the charges they stole from you
they decided to ignore the deadline so you filed incurring court costs
they then decide to send you a partial/goodwill offer for not even the amt they originally stole from you
what is needed here is the letter refusing partial settlement
send this next day g/teed then you can prove your dates
and continue with your claim

ALSO GET IN TOUCH WITH THE BANKING OMBUDSMAN
if you have this in writing off the bank
he has already told the banks he will see the closing of Ac's of ppl who are claiming against the as a "punative measure"
and is ordering compo and making them re open accs

Total £3453.75 if this is deposited n my acount within the next fourteen days I will then inform the court I wish to cancel the proceedings. Lets see what comes back form this one :devil:

personaly i would settle and launch new claim for newer charges, where it would not cost you so much if you loose.(if it ever went to court)
