  • WendyB v Natwest -The other account ***SETTLED***

    Just a quick update.

Sent Prelim 23rd May, LBA 14 days later. Did not file at court cos I couldn't afford the fee.

Just spoken to Borehamwood, who say that I should get my offer letter by 20th July. Claim has been validated for the full amount.

When I get it I'm going to add on the charges since I put my claim in, rather than do a second claim, this might delay payment but safer than having my account closed and immediate repayment of all debts to Natwest - including my mortgage- which I've been threatened with by a bloke at Collections, if I make another claim!

As they've already paid up in full on our first account, I think after this I'll quit while I'm in front!!!

Might do hubby's Natwest credit card though.......

Didn't think they were allowed to do that.
If your mortage is up to date there should be no problem
Did you get a name for who you spoke to?
I would think this would be classed as intimidatory threats

Yes I'm sure it is intimidatory but I couldn't be bothered to argue with the jumped up little toad, especially as he said it really nicely as if he was doing me a favour by warning me!!!
And surprisingly enough, calls to Collections are not recorded.....

Just have to cross that bridge if and when I come to it.......

Collections do seem to talk through their rear. They cannot threaten your mortgage, end of.

Wel, got home from work last night and there was a big Natwest envelope waiting for me.....usual blah blah crap with the second page OFFERING THE FULL AMOUNT OF MY CLAIM. Yeeeaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!
Am going to add on the charges they've applied since then which is another £86.00, so when this goes into my account we'll be well under the overdraft limit. Will then be able to pay off a bit of the overdraft every month and clsoe the account. Another one less to worry about.

Just starting Crap One, waiting for statements, have had 2 single statements in the post in 2 separate envelopes......gonna do hubby's Natwest credit card, thinking of doing LTSB but its over 6 years old, might do Citicard, and am just about to do Barclays for a mate, got the statements, need to do schedule and Prelim.
But am so busy at work at the moment might not get much done for the time being.

Cheers mate. No chance of getting rid of me yet!! Although as I still have no internet access at home (BT have managed to put me phone ack on but not broadband, so now gotta wait for that so Sky can sort my broadband out!) so i can only get on internet at work, good job only me here today!

Have added extra charges on to my offer letter, have been told that i can also add on the charge thats due on 28th July, so altogether thats another £114 they should cough up in extras.

Just spoke to a bloke in Collections to find out the charge for July, while I was on I asked him how come I'd had a referral charge of £30,when I've got no d/d or anything else going out of the account? He said that referrals were £28. Had to point out that actually overlimit is £28, referrals are £30. It would seem i know more about their charges than they do lol. You gottta feel sorry for them when customers are better informed than they are! But he said he'll refund that charge...but have already put it on my letter to go back to Customer Relations, so with any luck they may pay me twice......just hedging my bets in case he doesn't do the refund.

Nat West 2 £126 settled LBA

It might take them a bit longer cos of having to check the "extras", but I'll be checking from Monday onwards. I know they sneak it in, cos when they paid the last lot it wasn't there in the moring, but appeared in the afternoon. To be honest Collections will probably be so gobsmacked about my account being under my overdraft limit they'll probaly phone me to ask why lol!

Have posted my offer letter back to Natwest, some address in Scotland that I'd never heard of - I'm sure the last one had to go to Borehamwood...rang the chase team who said that they'd run out of Borehamwood envelopes so they've had to put in envelopes for Direct Banking in Scotland! But they assured me it will get to the right place. Just have to wait and see

Wel still no money in my account so I rang the Chase team. Was informed that they only opened my letter on 25th July, so money should be in my account by 14th August. This didn't really help as Collections want my account back under the limit by today. Girl at chase team (Elaine) was dead helpful, put a note on the system, she says Collections have access to CES system, and also phoned through to collections and advised them that the money will be in my account soon. Then she put me through to collections and its sorted until 14th August at least. The bloke at collections did try to get me to transfer money out of our other account but backed down when I pointed out that this would leave no money to live on!
The bad news is that they will not pay the additional charges that have been put onto the account since I claimed. Got to claim for those separately and won't get sorted till after the OFT case! Oh well!
Collections were worried that if they upped the overdraft I'd sneakily grab the refund then still owe them as much as I do now!!!!! Assured them I wouldn't do this (got no intention of doing that, I want this debt sorted!!)
Also again threatened with defaulting all our accounts including the mortgage. Looks like I might finally get it sorted soon......don't hold your breath.....
