Good evening to all at Legal Beagles, we have just moved house, and the last letter we received from a debt collection agency was over 5 years ago, the actual debt is over 10 years old, they seemed to have picked up on our house move, now we are getting letters offering us a discount from £10,950 down to £2,500 if we pay with in 10 days, we have received 2 letters from them which we just recycled, I have no intention of contacting them in any manner, any advice would be appreciated, Kind Regards Sealion.

Was your last payment or acknowledgement over 6 six years ago? Looks like their chancing their arm by offering that discount thinking you would be stupid enough to think its a good deal.
If it were me I would send a non-acknowledgement letter stating that it is now SB etc., if this is the case. Hopefully this will stop them bothering you.
