    This Bill is expected to have its second reading debate on Friday 11 March 2016.

    This Bill was introduced to Parliament on 28 October 2015 under the Ten Minute Rule. This allows an MP to make his or her case for a new bill in a speech lasting up to ten minutes. An opposing speech may also be made before the House decides whether or not the bill should be introduced. If the MP is successful the bill is taken to have had its first reading.

    Summary of the Regulation of Enforcement Agents (Collection of Council Tax Arrears) Bill 2015-16

    A Bill to make provision about the use of bailiffs and other enforcement agents by local authorities to collect council tax arrears; to establish a code of practice for enforcement agents; to create an independent bailiffs ombudsman to administer the code and to investigate and adjudicate complaints; and for connected purposes.

    Whether this has any chance of becoming Law is arguable as it is a 10 minute Bill. Some of it may find it'sd way into amendments though,. That it has got this far should focus the rogue bailiff elements to the fact there would be mowhere to hide.
