basically got a letter on the 22nd november saying I owe £33.45 on council tax and balance was due on or before the 6th December 1 x payment of 33.45.. down the bottom it said 60 of the total is subject to court proceddings. with a total of 93.45. so me thinking oh no its going to go up if I don't pay, paid £33.45 to the council. which now theyre saying gave to the bailiff company. I phoned them today after bailiff sent letter to my sisters saying I owe 400+. and yeah I didn't pay the £60 court proceedings and it was a mistake that the letter saying to pay before 6th December was wrong and it had already gone to the bailiffs on the 11th November. after bit of argument she said ok and I only need to pay £60 court fees and they will take the debt off. just asking if this is legal and can bailiffs act on court proceedings seen as I paid the council tax just not the fees? thanks in advance
paid council tax, bailiff action on court costs?
