Newlyn plc want to take my truck for parking on the edge of a kerb outside a job we was on, customers said it will be fine. And now a whole later they want £482 from me, I can pay it now but I don't want to put wages in these scumbags pockets and I'd rather pay the council direct. What can I do to get around this. I had a problem with marston once for a seat belt fine that went to £450 and I got this sent back to court for me to pay original fee. Can I do the same with these scum bags as I can't find anything under useful letters. Many thanks

Re: Help, newlyn demanding £482 for unpaid parking fine via council
No I didn't because they informed me it was put through the post as I had no windscreen ticket from them, but I had no idea, it's just a postal address as I live with my partner, I don't mind paying the original fee but the other lot on top is a joke, only last week it was 450 and now over the weekend it's gone to £482. If you advise me to pay the whole lot then I will, but I spoke to bailiff this AM and he said it's on hold for receiving payment so I won't occur anymore charges. I just wanted to check before I release the money. Thank you for quick reply plodder tom

Re: Help, newlyn demanding £482 for unpaid parking fine via council
Is the letter you received about it called a Notice of Enforcement & if so does it give a date when you have to pay or get in touch? After the ticket was peoduced you should have received quite a few different letters demanding payment which suggest the letters they have been writing to are for an incorrect address - you need to check with the Council where they have been sending things to.

At the postal address you should have received a Notice to Owner followed by the Charge Certificate and then the Order for Recovery. Did you receive all these?
Before a personal visit can take place a Notice of Enforcement must be sent and a Complaince fee of £75 is applied. It is at the 'Compliance Stage' that a payment arrangement should be entered into.
I am certainly confused by the previous amount of £450 and now £482. Have you asked for a breakdown of the charges?

You could tell Newlyn that the matter is being disputed and request they put it on hold :tinysmile_twink_t2:Originally posted by Josskxf View PostThank you. Re: Help, newlyn demanding £482 for unpaid parking fine via council
No need to write to the council or bailiffs for a break down. The £482 is made up of
PCN £110
plus 50% when registered with TEC £55
plus fixed registration charge £7
Notice of enforcement compliance fee £75
Enforcement fee £235
Total £482
Now if the council had prepared a warrant in line with Civil Procedure Rule 75.7.3, it could have enforced legally.
