Andrew James enforcements demanding full payment

Hi Guys, I'm new, scared stiff and desperate for advice if anyone can help.
I received 3 PCN's earlier this year which my employer were supposed to pay due to a mix up with my company parking space. I handed the notices to the accountant and thought no more of it. On Friday last week a Bailiff turned up at my house and gave me until 12pm Monday to pay to pay over a thousand pounds because the tickets had not been paid. I am unable to contact my employer as they have gone bust. I contacted the parking department and they said that they sent reminders, however I moved house and have not received any of the reminders.
I understand that they are my responsibility to pay and am not disputing this, but the bailiffs office will not accept a payment plan and are just demanding the full amount and the council will not deal with it because its already gone to the bailiff.
I am fully prepared to pay them back and can afford £100 per month which I thought was a reasonable offer. Is there anything I can do? Many, Many thanks for any replies.

Was the vehicle registered in your name or your employer? Do you still have the vehicle?

I second that I thought he'd gone the way of his former mates but apparently not Check to ensure he is a real bailiff

For a while he was on the other side (CAG) complaining about his previous employers who sacked him AND he was the guy shown on telly illegally harassing debtors with I might add the help of the local woodentops. Caused the Met a bit of problem did that

No, the vehicle is in my name and I do still have it. But like I said, I understand that the fine's are my responsibility and I am prepared to pay, I was even prepared to pay the bailiffs extortionate charges just to get them off my back but they will not even discuss it! The lady in the office said that they will just call at my home every time they are in the area. My car is only worth about £600 and the rest of my possessions put togather are probably only worth about the same so that wont even cover what they're asking for!

Hi,

just poking my my nose in, but as I understand matters it is:

You parked your own car on your Company's property. Is that right?

Was this private land?

Your Company have ceased trading?

Who issued the parking tickets to you?

Who employed the person who issued these tickets?

Do you still have the tickets?

Whatever you do - Don't Pay!

The actions of this "bailiff" are very possibly Criminal, and you may need to report the entire matter to the Police.

As an ex-PC myself, the whole approach of the Bailiff appears unlawful.

The actions of this Bailiff appear to fall within the Criminal Law, and on a quick look at the facts render the Bailiff liable to arrest by the Police.

Hello all,

My mistake......the offending Police Officer (assisting the "bailiff"), should be reported to the Commissioner, if it is in the Met area!

Crime is crime, no matter who commits it!

For those who wondered : as for my own matters.......2014 is not finished yet!!!

If the OP's vehicle was parked on private land, then I concur with Dougal. The EA is skating on very thin ice indeed.
