hi as anyone ever dealt with collectica before, I have an outstanding fine which i am struggling to pay through just recently being made redundant and they are not accepting any excuses therefore i am being forced to pay £350 by the end of this mth. any help would be appreciated

Collectica (among others) are well known on here, so you will get lots of advice from the Beagles

In order for you to get the right advice, we will need you to tell us more about the circumstances ...
Can you tell me what the debt is for?? You say it's a fine ... is it a court fine?? A council tax debt?? An unpaid bill etc...??
Have you had a 'Notice of Enforcement'??
Have you given Collectica an Income/Expenditure breakdown??

hi kati can you help me my dadwho is 82 is being hasstles by a firm called real time claims for money they say he owes for a ppi claim i deal with all his accounts and he has not had any money refunded he is panicking because they are saying they will take him to court i dont think hew should pay for money he has not had please help

hi yes its a court fine from a speeding offence, apparently they gave me 14 days to respond to the letter. granted i did leave it through being forgetful as i have many things on my mind since being made redundant, the guy i spoke basically didn't care that i was made redundant and he actual said " Jesus Christ how many times do you want to repeat that you've been made redundant" i can not believe this company how can they get away with things like this....i asked to speak to a a manger and he put phone down, don't really know what to do as i don't want to be charged extra for bailiff fees.

They have said they need the full £350 by the end of the mth otherwise they will send it to an enforcement officer to collect which would increase the debt by £235 i managed to speak to another agent but still refusing to set a repayment plan and said there's nothing they can do even when i said i wouldn't be able to afford it.

Hi John ... if you cannot pay the full amount, then there's really no way that they are going to get it :tinysmile_twink_t2:. I suggest that you contact the court that issued the fine stating that collectica are trying to force you into paying what you cannot afford (you should include an income and expenditure form showing how much you can realistically afford). Write to collectica (registered/signed for - costs less than £2)

advising them that although you want to pay your fine, you cannot feasibly pay the entire amount in one go and include an income and expenditure form.

It might be a good idea to get an appointment with your local CAB (http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk) as they might be able to correspond with collectica on your behalf. I would also recommend you contact your local MP (http://findyourmp.parliament.uk) telling them how collectica are trying o force you to pay it all at once - they could write to collectica too
