Hi, im really worried and dont know what to do. I had a fine from court for an unpaid driving offence and i sent off my income and expenditure to pay it, it was for 105 pounds. I work part time and im a single mum so my income just about covers mortgage food etc. I waited to hear from the court but then a few weeks later a man turned up at my house saying he was from swift and had a warrant for my address. He said he could take my car if he wanted to. I said it wasnt my car, as its still in my ex husbands name, and i told him to leave the property. I then rang the court to find out what the hell was going on, and they said they had no record of receiving my income and expenditure forms, and the fine was now with swift and there was nothing they could do. The problem is, swift want over 400 pounds off me, and i just havnt got it. The bailiff posted a letter through my door, and i rang them up, explained what had happened with the court, and offered to pay the 105 pounds, but they want over 400 and wont even let me pay it in installments. I already take medication for depression and this is seriously getting me down, i dont know where to turn and im scared of him coming back and forcing entry and taking what little possesions me and my daughter have. Any advice would be so much appreciated.

Unfortunately since the fine has gone to a warrant of Control with an enforcement agency the sum due now is the original fine £105 plus £310.
Do you receive any type of benefit (excluding child benefit, as that money technically speaking belongs to your child/ren)
If you do then you could be classed as vulnerable and you should be looked after by the Welfare Department at Swift (if they have one)
Take copies of any proof you have of benefits and send it recorded delivery to Swift with a covering note.
