Hi all just new to this site anyways a few weeks ago i received a letter from capital resolve saying they are coming to my house on the 26/06/2014 between the hours of 10.00 and 8.00 if i dont pay the money i owe. They are saying i owe £180 that was debt from talk talk then jc acquisitions international. I have never had any correspondence about this and i dont owe any money to talk talk. I have just found the template letter that is suggested to use. They told me i had to reply by the 19th of June to stop the visit which obviously has passed what are the chances they will arrive at my house tomorrow. Any help gratefully received.

Re: Capital resolve
If it is scatter-gunning, BB, that is an absolute no-no.
Bella85,
If you know you owe no money to Talk Talk and JC Acquisitions International, Capital Resolve are, at best, breaching debt collection guidelines. Demanding money from someone who does not owe you any money and using threats to enforce the demand is a serious matter and the law takes a serious view of such behaviour. So much so that it prescribes a substantial custodial sentence. This is why debt collection agencies need to exercise care when approaching people about a debt who may not be the actual debtor. Claiming they think or believe a person owes them money is not going to cut the mustard. If any knuckle-draggers turn up, tell them to leave very firmly. If they refuse, dial 999 and ask the police to attend and remove them.Life is a journey on which we all travel, sometimes together, but never alone.
