Hi I am new to this and hope you can help me
I was issued with a parking ticket with I stupidly did not pay it. I the moved out of Newham and now I have been sent a letter stating "Control of Goods". Is there any way that this can be resolved? I would really, really need help with this the ticket is for £825.00. They had visited 3 times well I phoned them to try and sort it out and offered to pay £50 a month but even though I explained they would not listen to any thing I said. So I did nothing. I feel I have been harassed by these people and I do not know what I should do

Okay. Could you list the following, please -

1. Parking charge;
2. Court fee;
3. Newlyn's fees.

The most they are lawfully permitted to charge, in terms of fees, is £310 maximum. Other fees come in only if they succeed in levying on and seizing goods.

It was a parking fine, it only has the amount and it says total outstanding £825.88. The client name the VRM (the car registration plate, and the location. It also says I have visited your premises with the intention of TAKING CONTROL OF GOODS in accordance with the TRIBUNALS COURTS AND ENFORCEMENT ACT 2007.

in the event you do not contact the office immediately I will return to remove your goods which will incur you in further fees of £110000 plus 7.5% on all debt over £1500.00

You need to ask Newlyns for a breakdown of how they have arrived at £825. The legislation they have quoted does not apply to decriminalised PCNs.

They can only apply the £110, if they manage to seize goods, so if there is no car outside and you don't let them to list anything in in the interim, they cannot have the £110 anyway.

The new rules seem to be working well in stopping rogue bailiffs (NOT)

What was the date of the offence and the dates of the three visits so far?

Hi,
The actual fees that enforcement companies can charge are as follows.
Compliance letter charge .................................................. ......................... £75.00
Completed enforcement charge .................................................. .............£235.00
Sale and disposal charge .................................................. ..........................£110.00
Total that can be charged........................................... .......................................£420.00

On top of this, you will still have to pay the penalty charge.
If a Bailiff does not succeed in taking control of goods from you, and in accordance with the new 2014 legislation.
Then the Enforcement, and Sale and Disposal charges, cannot be legally collected from you.

The secret is to prevent the Bailiff from getting his/her grubby little hands on your goods.
Never, ever sign anything.
Never, ever let them into your home, not even on the pretense of using your loo.
Keep your car in a lock up garage, or anywhere that is not obvious and easily discoverable.
Never admit who you are.
In other words, make it as difficult as possible for them to carry out their job.
Never, ever give in to bullying or threats from these people.

Download the 'Control Of Goods Act National Standards', available from the Ministry Of Justice Website.

Make sure you read these documents, so that you have the upper hand when Bailiffs act unlawfully.

Indeed. There are 'Stickies' at the top of the bailiff section before you get to the posts, but often these get overlooked unless linked to. They're a good source of information if you weren't aware they're there.
