    Re: HELP

    I assume this Council Tax?

How many Liability Orders were there against you?
    What years were they for?
How many times has the Bailiff visited previously?
Were any of these visits prior to April 6 2014?
Has the Bailiff had access to your home or otherwise levied on goods outside?
If a levy has been made can you list the goods seized exactly as described on the Notice of Seizure?
Have you been left any paperwork & if so what?

      Re: HELP

thanx for your reply. i have 1 as iv payed off the other 2 accounts. they were for 2009 and 2010 and prior to today no bailiff has visited although iv had letters saying they have. I know not to let bailiffs into my home despite the fact he said he was allowed to force entry iv never seen the bailiff signed anything and i spoke to him through a window. i have had a letter today saying there enforcing the liability order for 264 pound. even though i only owe 65

From what you say it appears that the Bailiff has visited previously, but I imagine there has never been any arrangement made to pay the debt off. Had you paid direct to the Council for the other 2 accounts?

Before commenting further I would urge you to contact the Council. You need to speak to someone at the Council and ask the following questions:
1 - how many Liability Orders they have against you
2 - the dates they were obtained
3 - the addresses they were for
4 - the period of time each covers
5 - how much each one was for
6 - how much is still outstanding
7 - the dates they were passed on for enforcement
8 - the dates & amounts of any payments

Secondly you need to contact the Bailiffs and ask for a breakdown of their fees. Use Letter 1 in the Useful Letters in the Stickies for this.

Doing either of these will not stop the Bailiff visiting however so you must be prepared for another call but as far as I can see he can add no more fees unless he manages to make a levy on goods.
